Holidays
Description
This drama distinguishes itself by laying out family conflict as a sequence of concrete interactions—trips, missed appointments, repairs and arguments—rather than relying on voice-over or expository montage. Eleven-year-old Fridolin lives with his mother and sees his father Jan only during the holidays; Jan arrives with plans for adventures, sudden detours and attempts at reassurance, while a serious drinking problem repeatedly disrupts those plans and forces practical responses from both boy and parent. The cast includes Max Riemelt, Milo Eisenblätter, Joel Basman and Timo Weisschnur. Released in 2026, the film follows Fridolin as he waits, drives, hides small disappointments, rings his mother, and deals with his father’s unpredictability through a series of concrete scenes rather than summary. The story is set during the holidays.
