Description

A weathered timber cabin stands at the edge of a pine stand, its single window dark in the late afternoon. After the death of her family, a woman has made that wilderness her home, deliberately cut off from towns where suspicion and fear have hardened after an outbreak of a fatal disease. She lives alone, keeping distance from public life and the networks that remain. When circumstances force her to abandon that solitude she moves back toward populated places and the practical realities of living among others. The film follows her as she negotiates contact with strangers, reassesses previously shunned bonds and experiences an unexpected sense of freedom alongside the practical need for connection. Released in 2026, the cast includes Nina Hoss, Precious Mariam Sanusi, Barbara Petritsch and Johannes Nussbaum.
