Mestre Zu
Description
A reel-to-reel tape recorder on a kitchen table becomes a running prop as the film records conversations and readings. Mestre Zu, released in 2026, assembles on-camera interviews, radio excerpts and printed material to document a network of voices. The cast includes Arthur Dapieve, Zuenir Ventura, Alfredo Ribeiro and Ana Maria Machado; they appear in interview segments, reading sessions and archival audio clips. The film sequences testimony, short lectures, and passages from newspapers and books, spelling out who said what and when. Beyond the recorder and the sit-down interviews, the film compiles public events and archival documents as a separate strand: filmed readings at cultural institutions, radio broadcasts played back in full, and selection of clippings and manuscript pages shown on camera. These elements run alongside personal recollections, creating a record of spoken and printed exchanges rather than a dramatized narrative.
