The Marshmallow Ghosts Presents Corpse Reviver No. 3: Possessions
Description
A cardboard box of magnetic tapes, each bearing an ominous, slanted label, sits on an estate-sale dealer’s folding table. Nathan takes a call about the find and drives to collect the box; over the course of a single day he moves across eastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding region, stopping at decommissioned churches, back roads and empty farmhouses. He plays each tape in the car while an unseen narrator recounts curses, witches, restless dead and local folk histories tied to the sites he visits. The Marshmallow Ghosts Presents Corpse Reviver No. 3: Possessions (2026) is billed as horror and music and arranges those accounts so narrative and score proceed together: the soundtrack, credited to The Marshmallow Ghosts, changes instrumentation and arrangement as each story unfolds, and the camera frames the landscape as a series of staged tableaux matched to the tape playing. The film presents discrete reports and musical settings rather than a single resolved plot, and it records both the oral lore and the band’s sonic responses.
