Amazing Monster

Description

Maria wants to become a miko in the village of Appare, but her application and place in the community are derailed when a family secret that has been concealed for eighteen years comes to light. The revelation coincides with the emergence of an unexplained force inside Maria; the film shows this change through a sequence of confrontations, ritual moments and escalating incidents that complicate her claim to the sacred role. Scenes focus on the mechanics of that shift: how the power appears, how it affects Maria's behavior, and how local rites and expectations are strained. Amazing Monster (アメイジング・モンスター) frames that immediate crisis alongside the lineage that produced it, tracing the secret’s ties to Maria’s sacred family and the obligations those ties impose on Appare. The picture is presented as a horror film released in 2026; the cast includes Ryoka Oshima. The final strand of the narrative follows the unfolding consequences of the eighteen-year concealment within the family and the village institutions tasked with responding to whatever the secret has set in motion.
