Description

A chipped enamel mug sits on the kitchen counter at 7 a.m., steam dried along its rim. Cecilia is a mother of two who has three failed relationships behind her; an unexpected crisis forces her to gather help beyond the usual circle. The film opens on the immediate, domestic consequences of that crisis: interrupted routines, a repeatedly ringing phone, and a list of the three men connected to her children that must be called. She calls Christophe, identified as her first love and the father of her daughter. She calls Guido, noted as the father of her son and a former manager turned rider. She calls Tony, described as her estranged ex-husband and a self-styled music manager. The premise puts these four adults back into each other’s lives not to resolve the past but to handle a present problem together. Scenes depict the four of them coordinating practical responses. They negotiate schedules, divide short-term tasks, and rework the logistics of daily life around the children. Conversations move between terse, bureaucratic details and the resurfacing of old grievances; the film records what each character does when confronted with immediate needs rather than summarizing their histories. Comic beats arise from mismatched expectations and the adults’ competing approaches to responsibility. A first love whose priorities are unclear, a former manager whose career has become something else, and an ex-husband who bills himself as a music manager produce clashes over timing, money, and childcare. The plot keeps to specific actions: Cecilia asks, the fathers arrive or call, they argue about practicalities, and they attempt temporary solutions that reveal fault lines without resolving them. The cast includes Alma Giardina, Valerio Mastandrea, Leonardo Lidi, and Emanuele Maria Di Stefano. The film was released in 2026 and is presented as a comedy that foregrounds concrete incidents—the missed appointments, the improvised plans, the list of immediate tasks—rather than an abstract character study. Performance moments focus on exchanges and the mechanics of cooperation. Narrative focus remains on how Cecilia manages the situation: she compiles information, assigns tasks, reworks her day, and keeps the children’s needs central while the three men offer varying degrees of help. The screenplay follows sequences of arrangements, returns to the core problem repeatedly, and shows the practical limits of good intentions without supplying a tidy conclusion. The story takes place in Cecilia’s home.
