Who Does the Chores?
Description
Soram visits her aging grandmother, who prepares dinner while struggling to breathe. This experience prompts her to reflect on the domestic labor that has sustained her family. Years later, after moving out and managing housework for the first time, she begins to understand the challenges of balancing chores and responsibilities. Soram questions how housework is divided and valued, particularly in relation to gender roles. Through conversations with friends and care workers, she uncovers the realities of domestic work, which is essential for survival but remains unequally distributed among family members. The film, released in 2026, presents a candid look at the often-overlooked efforts of women in the household. It combines moments of humor and darker reflections, moving quickly through Soram's evolving understanding of labor and care.
