Tiber

Description

Marco, an art historian from Australia with Italian roots, finds himself without a teaching position in Rome after being overwhelmed by grief. He returns to the town of Cortona to reconnect with his estranged wife, Julia, and their young daughter, Lucia. In the course of their reunion, he borrows a vintage golden Fiat X1/9 from his old friend Pietro. Together, Marco and Lucia embark on a summer road trip toward the Tiber River, a promise he has long evaded. As they travel through sunlit valleys and ancient hill towns, the father and daughter face their own pasts and the distance that has grown between them. Their journey evolves from a simple escape into a deeper exploration of memory and absence. By the end of their trip, they are left confronting the unresolved emotions that linger between them, with no clear path forward. The film is set for release in 2026 and falls within the drama genre.
