António de Oliveira Salazar, the former President of the Council of Portugal, is the central figure in "Our Father: The Last Days of a Dictator." Following a stroke in 1968, he returns to his mansion for recovery, where he is unaware that his political power has been stripped away. His housekeeper, Maria de Jesus, and other staff maintain the illusion that he remains in control, allowing him to live in a fabricated reality for two years until his death in 1970.
