Seven Days of Happiness

Description

In a remote Yakut village, Prokopiy, a 27-year-old boy with developmental disabilities, is confined by his strict mother, Maria, who believes this protects him from the dangers of the outside world. His routine existence changes when his sister, Aiyyna, arrives next door, bringing warmth and attention. She encourages him to leave his locked room, taking him on a sleigh ride to a party and introducing him to the community. This friendship reveals a new reality for Prokopiy, challenging the boundaries his mother has imposed. As Prokopiy embraces this newfound freedom, conflicts arise with Maria, who fears losing control over her son and the potential harm society can inflict on him. The film features a cast that includes Evgeny Nikolaev, Alena Tuprina, and Ella Sokolova. It presents a blend of humor and darkness, moving at a measured pace while addressing the struggles between parental protection and the desire for independence.
