Mosquitoes

Description

Eight-year-old Linda desires freedom from the constraints of her wealthy grandmother's Swiss villa, while her mother Eva seeks a carefree summer getaway in Italy. As they arrive, Linda forms a bond with local girls Azzurra and Marta, and together they create a protective gang to shield their youth from the selfish ambitions of their parents and the scrutiny of their neighbors. The film features Mia Ferricelli and Agnese Scazza among its cast. As summer unfolds, the girls face not only the typical trials of childhood friendships but also the challenges posed by a queer babysitter striving for acceptance in a world that often marginalizes him. Their experiences reflect the harsh realities of adult aspirations clashing with youthful dreams, as they confront the pressures from those around them while clinging to their own identities.
