A River's Gaze

Description

A solitary wooden table sits in a dimly lit kitchen, where Lavinia prepares meals for herself and her 13-year-old son in a poor Romanian village. As a single mother, she strives to create a better life, but her impulsive nature often leads to misunderstandings that strain their bond. The film follows their relationship through four seasons, highlighting the challenges that arise as her son stands at the threshold between childhood and adolescence. As Lavinia confronts her own limitations in love and support, conflicts emerge that test their connection. The cast includes Mihaela Subțirică and Ștefan Costea, who portray the evolving dynamics of Lavinia's attempts to guide her son while failing to recognize his growing independence. Midway through the film, a pivotal argument reveals the depth of their struggles, forcing both characters to reevaluate their understanding of one another.
