Jessica Chastain's 'Other Mommy' Faces Poor Reception Amid Successful Horror Year

Jessica Chastain's latest horror film, 'Other Mommy,' has debuted to disappointing reviews, marking a stark contrast to a successful year for the genre. In 2026, several horror titles, including 'Obsession' and 'Backrooms,' have achieved significant box office success and critical acclaim, setting high expectations for new releases.

The film's release comes at a time when audiences have shown a strong appetite for innovative horror narratives. As the year progresses, it remains to be seen how 'Other Mommy' will perform against a backdrop of heightened viewer expectations and critical scrutiny, particularly given the successes of its genre counterparts.
