Description

Mauro lives on the fringes of Naples, longing to return to his birthplace of Mindelo, Cape Verde. He dreams of participating in the Carnival, an event that symbolizes his connection to childhood and home. The documentary portrays his desire to reclaim his roots, showcasing the Mandinga dance and the cultural significance of the celebration. Through Mauro's journey, the film examines themes of belonging, identity, and the right to return to one's origins. The narrative unfolds as Mauro reflects on memories infused with the scents of his childhood, indicating the passage of time marked by yearning.
