Toxic Moon

Description

Scuz Lanchester, a zine writer, investigates a series of fatal hit-and-runs in a small town in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Her inquiry leads her into the depths of the woods, where she discovers a mysterious ooze that is causing genetic mutations in local wildlife. The film features a range of lo-fi monstrosities, including slimerats and vampire bats, alongside an atmosphere shaped by trash synths and bloody leather. The cast includes Cierra Allen, Sean Boyce, Stephanie Charles, and Tim Dean. As Scuz digs deeper into the bizarre occurrences, she encounters killer cars and the unsettling phenomenon of woundfog. This descent into chaos reveals a disturbing connection between the murderous incidents and the toxic substance affecting the environment. The visual style of "Toxic Moon" is captured entirely on VHS-C, adding a gritty aesthetic to the horror and science fiction elements.
