The Vigil Action

Description

This film presents a unique approach to the drama genre by intertwining the high-stakes world of street racing with a police procedural narrative. The plot centers around the 1314-kilometre mark of National Highway 210 in Xiling, where deadly accidents frequently occur due to racing gangs. Police Squadron Leader Zhang Yingbin, along with veteran officer Qiang Zhiguo and rookie cop Guan Tong, works to outsmart these racers. The trio also investigates a hit-and-run case that has remained unsolved for 17 years. As the child of a fallen hero, Guan Tong faces personal challenges and growth throughout these ordeals. As the story unfolds, the officers encounter various racing crews while attempting to maintain order on the highway. They gather intelligence, conduct stakeouts, and engage in tense confrontations with the gangs. During this process, Guan Tong learns valuable lessons about courage and responsibility, gradually evolving into a qualified guardian of the Qinling Mountains. The middle of the film intensifies as the team faces escalating risks and moral dilemmas while pursuing justice.
