Description

Graça, a French teacher, conducts private lessons in her apartment in Belo Horizonte to make ends meet. Living with her girlfriend Clara, she faces challenges as an independent Black woman from a lower-middle-class background. Her life takes a dark turn when she is forced to stay with an extremist evangelical family. As she becomes entangled in their beliefs, Graça finds herself confronting the unsettling aspects of religious fanaticism and a mysterious plot that threatens her sanity. The tension escalates as Graça battles against the oppressive environment of her new living situation. Her struggle to maintain her identity and mental health grows increasingly difficult as the family's influence deepens. The film, which stars Jehnny Beth, Grace Passô, and Bárbara Colen, unfolds within the urban landscape of a large Brazilian metropolis, revealing the pervasive darkness that lurks beneath the surface of everyday life.
