The Days Off

Description

The relentless summer heat envelops Bego, a 12-year-old girl, as she struggles to feel at home in her bustling family. With a solar eclipse on the horizon, her sense of isolation deepens, intensified by her interactions with girls her age. During this tumultuous time, she connects with REN__, an online friend who introduces her to the concept of “shifting.” This practice involves entering alternate realities through lucid dreaming, offering Bego an escape from her current life. As Bego experiments with shifting, the boundaries between her reality and those she visits blur, impacting her relationships and sense of self. The film features a cast that includes Luiza Quinteiro, Antonia Robolini, Laura Paredes, and Guillermo Berthold. "The Days Off," released in 2026, presents a compelling narrative that intertwines the challenges of adolescence with the allure of fantastical realms, balancing moments of humor with darker undertones.
