Steppe Gods

Description

A dusty village in the Far East serves as the setting for "Steppe Gods," where 10-year-old Petka is determined to save his friend from a mysterious illness during the summer of 1945. The situation grows dire as the only person capable of helping is Hirotaro, a Japanese prisoner from a nearby military camp. Petka must find a way to communicate with Hirotaro, fostering a bond of trust while seeking assistance from both modern medicine and ancient spirits. As the story unfolds, Petka and Hirotaro face challenges that test their resolve and understanding. They work together to gather knowledge and resources, culminating in a series of events that draw them deeper into the realm of traditional beliefs and practices. The cast includes Vladimir Steklov, Darya Ekamasova, Olga Lapshina, and Ostap Rimmen, who contribute to the unfolding narrative as Petka's quest leads to unexpected alliances and revelations.
