Spin Me
Description
Two teachers dedicate their efforts to helping their autistic students achieve academic milestones, such as reading, counting, and telling time, with the hope that they will progress to fifth grade alongside their neurotypical peers. As they strive to meet these educational goals, a central question emerges: is the aim of their work simply to catch up, or is there a deeper purpose in their teaching methods? While the teachers focus on academic development, the film also reveals the importance of emotional and social growth within the classroom. Through interactions with the students, it becomes evident that success may not solely be measured by standardized achievements, but also by fostering independence and self-care skills. The documentary challenges traditional metrics of progress and invites a broader discussion on the value of inclusive education.
