Smile Charles

Description

A dimly lit room filled with computer screens serves as the workspace for Charles, an online sex worker operating under the alias "Smile Charles." After a scandalous turn in his life led him to lose everything, he adopts this new identity, concealing himself from the outside world. His awkward demeanor contrasts sharply with the façade he presents online. The cast includes Hong Seo-back, who portrays the character's struggle to reconcile his internal conflicts with the persona he projects. The arrival of Mari, a con artist who has swindled two billion, disrupts Charles's isolated existence. Their uneasy companionship develops as they traverse Bangkok's bustling streets and the serene ruins of Ayutthaya. As they spend time together, Charles is forced to confront the memories and aspirations he had long buried. Midway through the film, their interactions lead to unexpected revelations, pushing Charles to reassess his choices and the path he is on.
