Description

The Veterinary Board receives a positive A test result from a wild boar shot by a hunter, prompting a young veterinary officer to prepare for the disposal of potentially infected animals. He travels to Kiuma village, where the elderly couple Ants and Minna treat their domestic animals as substitutes for their absent children. As Ants' nephews arrive with their families to deliver Christmas gifts, the festive atmosphere is disrupted by the urgent need to address the situation with the pigs. As the relatives gather to discuss their options, the pressure mounts for Ants to secure their help in slaughtering the animals. The day before Christmas in 2026 brings unexpected challenges, and the tensions between familial duty and the harsh realities of farm life unfold. With the festive season on the horizon, the characters are left facing a difficult decision that intertwines their personal relationships and responsibilities.
