Gill
Description
"Gill" is a drama that combines animation and fantasy to tell the story of a boy named Gon, who develops gills that allow him to breathe after facing death. With the help of Kang-ha and his grandfather, Gon is brought into an unconventional family dynamic. As he struggles with isolation, Kang-ha's initial hostility toward him gradually shifts, leading to a pivotal decision where Kang-ha sends Gon out into the world, hoping to protect him and encourage his growth. The film also highlights the relationship between Gon and the fantasy bird that shares his name, which is known for its long journeys. This connection serves as a metaphor for Gon's own potential for exploration and freedom, contrasting with his earlier confinement. As the narrative progresses, the film delves into the evolving bonds between the characters, capturing both the challenges and triumphs of their unique family structure.
