Description

Legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans seeks to solidify his sound and achieve musical perfection with his trio, which includes bass player Scott LaFaro. They are set to perform a residency at New York's Village Vanguard in June 1961, culminating in the live recording of two iconic jazz albums in one night. However, just ten days later, LaFaro dies in a car crash, leaving Evans overwhelmed by grief and unable to perform. As Evans tries to settle into a new reality without his musical counterpart, he confronts the silence that now fills his life. The film follows his struggle to find a way forward in the wake of loss, capturing the profound impact of LaFaro's death on both his personal and professional life.
