Demetra in Esilio

Description

Daria, a mother living in Milan, has withdrawn from the outside world, creating a small ecosystem of plants within her flat. Her daughter, Lia, ventures out briefly to shop and work on an art project inspired by the myth of Demeter and Persephone. Through her explorations, Lia begins to film her surroundings, capturing images that gradually lead her to understand her own path and identity. The film features a cast that includes Ioana Miruna Drajneanu and Roberta Rovelli. As the story unfolds, it juxtaposes the stillness of Daria's indoor life with Lia's artistic pursuits, blending elements of daily routine with the mythical narrative. The drama presents a quiet yet introspective examination of motherhood and personal growth, infusing moments of both humor and darkness as it progresses.
