Confession

Description

Professor Alexei, disillusioned and imprisoned, endures brutal interrogation by his former student Vladimir in Lubyanka Prison. He refuses to confess to his perceived sins, despite the pressure and violence exerted by his captor. As the interrogation unfolds, Alexei confronts his past decisions and strives for redemption, even as he risks his life to save others caught in the political turmoil of Stalin's Moscow. The film, which features a cast that includes Richard Brake, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, is set in 1938, a time of intense oppression. Through Alexei's struggles, "Confession" examines the moral dilemmas faced by individuals in a totalitarian regime and the sacrifices made in the name of faith and resistance.
