Description

The film takes place in Washington, DC, where filmmaker Jeff Krulik documents the life of local photographer and musician Chris Earnshaw. Over a span of 25 years, Krulik captures Earnshaw's passionate commentary on the city's cultural and architectural history, while also recording Earnshaw's transformation into a local art star. The film showcases their extensive walks through DC and includes thousands of photographs that Earnshaw has amassed since childhood, highlighting the changes within the city. As the years progress, Krulik's initial documentary project evolves unexpectedly. What began as a straightforward exploration of Earnshaw's artistic journey becomes a complex reflection on their relationship and the impact of time on both the city and their lives. The film features contributions from Greg DeLiso and Dina Selfridge alongside Krulik, documenting not just the subject but also the filmmaker's shifting role in Earnshaw's narrative.
