A Stroll to Syracuse

Description

Paul Gompitz, a middle-aged man from Rostock, aspires to travel to Syracuse, Sicily, motivated by the desire to follow the path of poet Johann Gottlieb Seume. However, living in the GDR presents a significant obstacle, as legal means to cross the border are impossible. To achieve his goal, Paul begins to devise a plan for escape, facing the challenges of the restrictive environment and the risks involved. As the story unfolds, Paul's journey also highlights the relationships with those around him. The cast includes Charly Hübner and Lina Beckmann, who portray the impact of his decisions on family and friends.
