9 Temples to Heaven

Description

Sakol, a 63-year-old man, sets out on a one-day pilgrimage to nine temples after a fortune teller warns him about his elderly mother’s potential death. Accompanied by his ailing mother, wife, brother, sister, and children, he embarks on this journey just two weeks before her birthday. As they travel from temple to temple, the family confronts their clashes and differing perspectives, while the grandmother grows physically and mentally weary amidst the ornate beauty of Thai architecture. The film, blending elements of drama and comedy, portrays the family's dynamics as they handle their relationships during this challenging trip. Their interactions become a significant part of the pilgrimage experience. "9 Temples to Heaven," released in 2026, features a cast that includes Amara Ramnarong, Surachai Ningsanond, Jirawut Chiwaruck, and Yaneenan Jiraphatjittrin.
